Never judge a book by its cover. Most of the time, foreign workers in Malaysia give some of us the perception of not making as much as us but little do we know, they have a lot of money “stashed” in their savings. More than us, sometimes.

Just recently, a Malaysian used car sales executive, Joshua shared his experience of dealing with a humble foreign family who was at his workplace to look for a new car. In his Xiao Hong Shu (RED) post @林仔进口车专业户, Joshua reminded others not to judge a book by its cover, especially foreigners who are making a living here in Malaysia.

“Most of us associate foreign labours as people who do dirty jobs. The things that many of us are not willing to do ourselves.”

The foreign man came with his family to survey for a new car and after making his decision, he immediately settled the down payment on the spot and submitted the necessary documents, but that’s not the best part.

“His loan was approved in just 1 day. Most of us have to wait for a few days, at least, even if we earn a lot.”

In a conversation with WORLD OF BUZZ, Joshua said the family came from India, and they have only been here for 6 months. When asked about the buyer, Joshua said the man from India is working in the IT line as a manager, and he makes 5 figures a month.

“I could see from the family’s conversation that they are all very humble, down-to-earth. They don’t look down on others just because they have a lot of money.”

Joshua also told WORLD OF BUZZ that the man bought himself a used Mazda for RM68,000, and the family is just staying at the condo in front of his workplace.

He added that many of us may not be aware of how talented the foreigners in Malaysia can be.

“Sometimes, the places where they came from are filled with professionals, like lawyers, doctors.”

Congratulations to the man who managed to get himself a new car! This reminder goes to everyone – always stay humble regardless of the situation.
