Near the Philippines Market in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, a man recorded a video showing children loitering around a parking lot while holding large stones, allegedly with sinister intentions.

According to the video, recorded by a concerned netizen, these children reportedly use stones to intimidate drivers who refuse to pay unofficial parking fees. He claims this has become a common sight, especially near the Philippines Market and Anjung Kinabalu.

In his caption, the netizen wrote:

“It is not part of our culture to have illegal parking attendants, unless it’s on private premises. This practice needs to stop before it spreads elsewhere.”

Netizens reacting to the video expressed frustration over the lack of enforcement and the presence of these so-called illegal parking attendants.

“This is a common sight at the Philippines Market or Anjung Kinabalu. If you give them RM10, they’ll ask for more. They even fight among themselves for income.”

One user commented, “Are there no enforcement officers in this country? It’s sad to see us failing to take care of our own land.”

We hope business owners and local authorities will take this issue seriously and act to prevent further intimidation and exploitation in public spaces.
