WATCH: Two Children Caught Trying to Steal Durian from Store, Sparking Online Debate

A video has gone viral showing a man catching a child who was believed to be trying to steal a durian from his shop.

The 21-second clip, posted by @update11111 on X, shows the man grabbing one of the boys involved, while another manages to run off. The boy who was caught tries to break free and denies stealing the fruit, which is currently in season.

“It wasn’t me who stole it. He did, he took the durian and ran,” the boy says.

Netizens divided

However, the video has sparked a heated debate among netizens in the comments section. Some people backed the man, saying he was just trying to teach the kid a lesson. Others felt he went too far, after all, it was just one durian.

A few pointed out that the child might have been hungry and said there was no need to treat him so harshly.

Meanwhile, others supported the man’s firm response, saying it was an important lesson to prevent stealing from becoming a habit.

So far, the location of the incident remains unknown, and there hasn’t been any official statement from the authorities.
