Confession pages of local universities are where all the interesting, inspiring or even irrelevant stories are found, thanks to the ‘wildly imaginative’ and creative varsity students. Don’t pretend like you’ve never submit story before…
Recently, another confession was submitted to UKM Confessions and it struck a chord with fellow Malaysians. The submitter was a fellow Indian and he mentions about the azan.
The ‘azan’ is a Muslim call to ritual prayer. You know, the ones we always hear emitting from mosques.
Instead of being annoyed at it, he shares how grateful he is to have it!
“Subuh azan is my natural alarm.”
“Zohor azan reminds me to have my lunch.”
“Asar azan reminds me that it’s time to play futsal with my friends.”
“Maghrib azan reminds me that I’m smelly and it’s time for a shower.”
“Isyak azan reminds me to stop playing with my phone and start studying.”
“Besides, each azan is around 2 minutes or even shorter than that, so why bother about it, brother?”
The post was originally submitted to UKM Confession on March 30th and it instantly went viral. Many netizens and even varsity students from other universities applauded the contributor of this post as he appreciates the beauty of another religion. And most importantly, respect it – which is what everyone MUST have in our beautiful diverse country.
“You’ve totally earned my respect brother,” a netizen commented.
“I once asked my Chinese roommate whether he was bothered by the azan. He said that the azan is not bothering him at all, in fact, it makes the atmosphere quite peaceful actually,” said another netizen.
The compassion and love showed by this varsity student to other religion is truly commendable. Kipidap and hope you’ll get GPA 4.0 in your next exam!
