A recent post has taken the internet by storm after a loan officer shared how a man approached her to enquire about taking out a loan despite being unemployed.
Taking to Threads, loan officer Eykin (@kinnnnnnnnnn._) politely explained that he would not be eligible for a loan if he was unemployed. The man then asked, “What if I take out the loan under my wife’s name?”

Man inquires about taking out loan under wife’s name without her knowledge
Eykin told him that he could apply using his wife’s name, but was shocked when the man revealed that he planned to do so without his wife’s knowledge. She then explained to him that:
“You can take out a loan under your wife’s name, but your wife will need to come in later to sign the agreement. You can be listed as the recommender and receive 5%.”
The man then asked if he could sign the loan agreement himself instead, saying that his wife was “difficult to reason with”.
“Can’t I be the one to sign the loan agreement? I want to take out the loan without her knowing. She’s a little difficult to reason with.
“My wife works for the government, so it’s difficult to get her to take out a loan like this, especially a bank loan,” he said.

“I’ll pay you RM1,000 as a fee”
Eykin once again explained that the person whose name is on the loan documents would have to be the one to sign the agreement.
However, the man still refused to give up. He even tried to bribe her, saying that he could forge his wife’s signature instead.
“Can’t you help me adjust it? I can forge my wife’s signature. Please help me. Once I get the loan money, I’ll give you RM1,000 as a fee for helping me arrange the loan,” he said.
Eykin turned down his request, which later angered the man.
“This is so stupid. Why work in loans if you can’t even help me?” he responded.

Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Eykin reminded Malaysians who are looking to take out a loan to always make sure they have their partner’s knowledge and consent.
“Don’t use your partner’s documents to take out any kind of loan without their knowledge, regardless of what type of loan it is. And don’t even try to forge your partner’s signature for your own personal benefit.”
