IKEA has always been known for two things: 1) their sturdy wood furniture, and 2) Swedish meatballs. However, customers in Hong Kong got a lot more than they bargained for when a display screen suddenly showed a clip of a naked man touching himself.
According to Apple Daily, a video of a man masturbating was played on a one-metre-long screen in IKEA, Hong Kong. The incident happened to be on New Year’s Day and the mall was crowded as people were enjoying the public holiday. To make matters worse, the video went on for several minutes before any action was taken. Guess you can say his shameless act was pretty ballsy!

NST reported that an eyewitness named Chan reported the incident to multiple employees after watching it for three minutes. Chan, albeit initially ignored, finally got the help of a female staff to solve the traumatising video. However, instead of turning off the display, the staff proceeded to use a large piece of paper to cover the screen.
After the screen was unplugged, an IKEA spokesperson issued an apology about the incident. We don’t know who was behind all of this but it is believed that a prankster may have hacked the furniture store’s system as a joke.
What do you think of this incident? What would you have done if you experienced something similar at a mall? Tell us in the comments!
