After realising that their raw ingredients had been going missing, a Johor restaurant checked their CCTV footage and found that a woman had been stealing from them!

Taking to their Facebook page, 補鑊佬福建面 Restoran Uncle Pou Wok called out the aunty for stealing from their Pelangi outlet in Johor, as it affects their business.

They wrote, “We work hard to run this store, getting up early and going to bed late every day, just to serve every customer with all our hearts. Buying vegetables, preparing ingredients, cooking, every step requires cost and effort. However, recently, we found that someone has been stealing our things when no one is paying attention.”

In the CCTV images showcased, the aunty can be seen looking into the restaurant’s icebox placed in the outlet’s back alley before taking vegetables and other items from it.

The restaurant offered to cook a free meal for the aunty

They decided to be kind and offer the aunty complimentary meals if she is struggling financially but warns her not to resort to stealing again.

“We want to say that, if you are facing difficulties, you can tell us and we can cook you a hot meal; but please don’t use this method to undermine our efforts and delay our business. Every ingredient is essential to ensure customers’ experience. Every act of stealing is a disregard of our labour,”

“We hope that you can respect our efforts and respect yourself as well. If you are caught again, we can only protect our rights and interests through legal means. Please cherish each others’ trust and respect, and be an upright person,” they shared.

What would you have done if you were in the restaurant owner’s shoes? Do feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section.
