25 couples were celebrated simultaneously in a wedding ceremony in Lenggong, Perak, but one couple became one of the highlights of the ceremony.

47-year-old Mohd Shaiful Nizam Yeop Mat Isa married the love of his life, Repeah Sani, who is 23 years his senior.

Perak Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad, who also attended the event, posted a short clip of the wedding ceremony on his Facebook page.  The Mass Wedding Ceremony was held at Lenggong Parliament, in conjunction with the date 25 May 2025, which has a unique combination of numbers.

70-year-old Rapeah, who had been married twice, said that she never thought she would tie the knot again, and certainly did not expect Nizam to develop romantic feelings for her. Rapeah, however, happily accepted her fate with Nizam.

As for the groom who enjoyed his first marriage, he said he was grateful for what fate had in store for him. He met Rapeah after returning to Lenggong, and their relationship bloomed as they grew closer.

“She was my neighbour and she always cooks for me. I used to call her Mak Ngah (aunty), now I call her sayang,” Nizam said.

Deputy Home Minister and Lenggong member of parliament Datuk Seri Dr Shamsul Anuar Nasarah, as well as former Tourism, Arts, and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz, also attended the event. Shamsul Anuar said similar events have been held in previous years to make it one of Lenggong’s tourism attractions.
