A woman in Terengganu recently confronted a man who allegedly peeked at and filmed women inside a toilet at a shopping mall in the state.

In a viral TikTok video, the man was seen running away as the woman chased him before he escaped down an escalator. According to the caption of the video, the incident took place on Thursday (20 November) at around 6 PM.

“He filmed women inside the toilet. I don’t know how many victims he recorded,” the woman remarked.

“We’re working closely with the police.”

The management of Mayang Mall acknowledged and confirmed the incident in an official statement last night (21 November), saying that they have lodged a police report as they take the matter seriously.

“After receiving a report from the victim, we notified the police, who came to our mall and conducted checks around the premises.”

Mayang Mall also assured visitors that auxiliary police at the premises have increased patrols, especially around the toilets, to ensure a safe environment for patrons. In its statement, the management also urged everyone to immediately report any suspicious situations to the mall and reminded them to stay alert to their surroundings.

At the time of writing, the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) in Terengganu has yet to release an official statement on the matter.
