Hollywood stars born in Malaysia have not only put the country on the map but also boosted Asian representation in Hollywood.

Malaysian-born actor and comedian Ronny Chieng recently poked fun during an interview with @complex, alongside Hong Kong-American actor Jimmy O. Yang, while discussing the ‘GOAT’ Asian country.

Best Asian Country

Jimmy kicked things off with a humorous comment, saying he didn’t want to reveal which country he thinks is the best in Asia. Ronny chimed in, playfully acknowledging that he (and apparently everyone else) already knew the answer.

“I’m working on this bit about ranking Asian countries based on whether you’d go on to ride a roller coaster there,” Ronny joked.

“Any white person can say Japan”

Jimmy then explained that he didn’t want to sound biased by promoting his own home country but shared his thoughts, saying he believes Japan might take the top spot.

“I’m just going to say Japan. It’s like the future. They have high-speed rail,” he said.

Ronny quickly cut him off, joking,

“Any white person can say Japan.”

“Malaysia truly Asia”

Meanwhile, Ronny didn’t hesitate to give his answer, confidently naming Malaysia as the best Asian country, thanks to what he considers has the best food in the world.

“Malaysia, truly Asia. It has the best food in the world,” he said.

Jimmy was quick to call out how biased Ronny’s answer was, pointing out that Malaysia is his hometown and even joked about how Ronny’s entire Instagram seems dedicated to mocking Malaysians and Singaporeans.

Ronny playfully clarified,

“No, I never hate on Malaysians. Just Singaporeans and Australians.”
