Taking to social media, Malaysian Chinese content creator, Leeroy Wong, shares his experience of joining the ‘Korban’ activity during Hari Raya Aidiladha.

@leeroywong28‘s video was aptly titled, “Orang Cina pertama kali tengok…(Malaysian Chinese watching this for the first time…).”

Give this video a watch.

“Today is Hari Raya Aidiladha, for the first time ever, I came to Penghulu Mukim Cheras to experience and learn more about korban.”

“Honestly, I am very nervous, because I am afraid of blood.”

Being his first time, he asked this one abang more about the korban activity.

“The cow is divided into seven sections, so per cow is divided into seven payments for those who want to participate in the korban.”

Leeroy then added that usually those who are involved will donate the meat to those in need.

When the activity began, there were moments when it was too much for Leeroy to take in and his crew too.

“Since I am not used to it, when they began the ceremony, I cried a little. It was a bit stressful for me.”

“I understand that we humans eat meat, and at least now I learn how to appreciate the process that it goes through during slaughter.”

At the end of his video, he shared his overall experience during the korban.

“They were very friendly. They shared a lot about korban and gave me a lot of input.”
