Malaysians are forced to endure the haze due to the forest fires from Indonesia but it looks like we’re not the only ones who have to suffer from this. While we can have a brief respite from the smoke by escaping indoors, the wildlife in the forest are stuck and suffering the most from the horrible forest fires.

Many of the animals who live in the Indonesian forest have been caught unaware by the blazing destruction surrounding their homes and because of humans’ greed, they become unwitting victims of the fire.

Some of these include super huge pythons that were burnt to death and photos of the bodies of these giant reptiles being circulated on social media.

According to Tribun Jateng, people thought the snakes were anacondas at first but it looks like they are actually from the python family. However, what shocked netizens were the number of dead animals, including some giant snakes which measured up to 10m in length and 20cm in diameter. Snakes who are this size could swallow livestock such as goats and cattle or even human beings easily and are very rare.

Many of these snakes were already burnt to a crisp and some of them were found with their mouths wide open and looking helpless, as if they had died a very painful death. So sad! The snake’s whole body is blackened and charred as it tries to escape from the sudden fire.

Meanwhile, a netizen also shared a video of a family of snakes that were found dead in the forest, with the baby snake in between its parents, which makes one think that perhaps they were trying to protect their baby while escaping the flames.

This is absolutely heartbreaking.

So many innocent animals are losing their homes and lives due to these forest fires caused by humans’ greed. Hopefully, this will stop soon as we are all suffering from the terrible haze – animals and humans alike.
