A viral video recently caught the attention of Malaysians. It showed dashcam footage of a yellow Perodua Axia on an undisclosed road in Johor, with its high beams turned on, getting the taste of its own medicine.

Shared by @kekdee on TikTok, the video has garnered over 467,000 views and more than 25,100 likes as of the time of writing. Many commenters said that the Axia driver deserved what they got.

At the start of the video, @kekdee was in the car with her child and husband, who was driving, when their vehicle was suddenly blinded by the yellow Perodua Axia, which had its high beams on full blast.

As their child was tired and fell asleep in the car, the husband became annoyed by the high-beaming Axia and said he’d give the driver the taste of their own medicine once he allowed the car to overtake them.

With full support from his wife, once the Axia overtook them on the road, the man turned on his car’s high beams and followed behind it in the right lane.

As he was following the Axia with high beams, the man sarcastically asserted,

“Here, let me give you the taste of your own medicine. Does it feel good? Feels so good, right? This is how other drivers feel when you turn on your high beams.”

Experiencing the full blast of the car’s blinding high beams, the Axia driver seemed unable to drive properly, swaying left to right continuously.

After a few seconds, the Axia immediately signalled left to avoid being high-beamed.

Malaysians give their 2 cents on the matter

In the comments section, many Malaysians said the Axia driver had it coming because they were inconsiderate about their car’s high beams.

One commenter said that high beams, especially those with white lights on their vehicle, are blinding and that we should move back to yellow headlamps on cars.

Meanwhile, another commenter said that people who like to use high beams should pity other drivers who have bad night vision.

Besides that, one netizen was amused at the supporting wife while her husband gave the Axia driver a taste of their own medicine.

Orang ni kadang bawak takde otak. Lesen beli agaknya. Dia tak fikir ke highbeam ni sakit mata? Kang kena highbeam balik tahu marah. Kang ajak gaduh tepi. Orang tegur takleh terima. Bengap
