A foreign man has labelled Malaysia “a hellhole with no human rights” as he claims to be stuck in our country due to an alleged parking incident.
According to a report by Express UK, 47-year-old Ahmed Hadi from London said his passport was seized by a court in Malaysia after an incident at a parking lot in Penang, where he had parked his car for 10 minutes, on December 7, 2024.
This all started when Ahmed intended to pay the RM7 parking fee after parking for 10 minutes.

He apparently tried to make the payment at the parking lot’s machine but both of his cards were rejected. Ahmed says that he pressed the help button on the machine and spoke to the parking lot officials for another 10 minutes, though he claims no help was offered.
He then allegedly raised the barrier himself to exit the parking lot, which led to damages.
Ahmed was subsequently arrested and his lawyer had later negotiated a settlement with the owners of the parking lot.
While things appear to have been settled, Ahmed claims that the Malaysian court is still holding on to his passport which was confiscated as part of his bail terms, despite the incident happening 8 weeks ago.
Ahmed had plans to move to Malaysia
Ahmed initially wanted to move to Malaysia with his wife and 2 daughters but is now reconsidering.

“The whole thing was ridiculous from the start. I was willing to pay, but they couldn’t take the money and wouldn’t let me out. I thought we’d sorted everything out, but I still don’t have my passport or any idea when or if I’ll get it back,”
“The conditions were awful in the (jail) cells, 50 people sharing one toilet. One of the police (officers) threatened to beat me up,” he said while labelling Malaysia “a hellhole with no human rights.”.
He also encouraged the British to be more appreciative of their own country.
“We think Britain is broken, but this makes you realise how good we have it. This country is a rip-off, and you’re not free,”
“There was no other way out (of the parking lot). It was quite annoying and ridiculous. I was gentle with the barrier but it just caved in like paper,” he added.
