In bleak days such as the ones we now live in, the reality of economic hardships are difficult to ignore. More and more people are having to dig into their savings to ensure that they can make ends meet, while others simply fall through the cracks and wind up sleeping on streets.
Which is why given the circumstances, every little bit of kindness we can stand to offer one another can really make a difference, whether we realise it or not. Such is the heartwarming story of one abang FoodPanda, who recently spoke about his experience in offering a hand to the homeless in Malaysia while on the job.
Posted by netizen @syarazidlee who works as a FoodPanda rider, he shared how when doing his delivery rounds recently, one of his customers who ordered KFC had abruptly decided to cancel their order.
Left with food in his delivery bag, he then decided that instead of letting it go to waste, he would do some good and hopefully help someone in need with it. Finding a number of homeless men who were sleeping outside what appears to be a bank, he then distributes the KFC meals to them.
“I pity them, not knowing when they’ll have their next meal. They smiled so happily when they received the KFC that I gave them.
Alhamdulillah, I hope our country will overcome the Covid-19 crisis soon.”
In the video he uploaded accompanying the post, the homeless men appeared to be completely elated at receiving the meals, smiling broadly as they tucked into the food. The netizen managed to deliver free meals to as many as three homeless men.
His Tweet, which has since gone viral, has received plenty of praise from Malaysian netizens for his kindness and empathy towards those less fortunate.
To this incredible abang FoodPanda, we thank you for your service to the community, and for showing these homeless men kindness in these difficult times!
