This is definitely not what comes to my mind when speaking of nurses.

A Malaysian mother who works as a nurse adopted two girls solely because she was eyeing for the RM250 monthly aid from the government. Unfortunately, the two stepdaughters ended up being physically abused by the family members.

According to Sinchew, the mother who already has two children, lives in Kampung Rambutan, Perak. In May 2015, she adopted two girls who are siblings through the welfare department because RM250 is allocated for each girl per month by the government, and she wanted that money.

After the adoption, the nightmare began as the stepmother’s biological children, a 15-year-old daughter and a 16-year-old son joined in to abuse the stepdaughters.

This horrifying incident only came to light on 31 July 2017 when a nurse who was conducting body check-ups at the victims’ kindergarten discovered the wounds on their bodies.

Based on the healed wounds, it is believed that the victims were caned and burnt by cigarette butts. The nurse then swiftly brought the case to the police’s attention.

Acting on the police report made, the mother and her two biological children were arrested on the same day.

“During investigation, the victims revealed that their stepmother and stepsister would always cane and pinch them. Besides that, they even used their fingers to sexually assault their private parts,” Selama district police chief, Loo Lian Lay said.

“Meanwhile the stepbrother burnt the victims’ body and thighs using cigarette butts,” he added.

The victims were sent to Selama Hospital for examination and it has been proven that they were indeed caned, burnt and sexually abused. Since the investigation is still ongoing, the victims have been sent to the welfare department.

Honestly, we can’t believe a nurse would do such atrocious things to the kids. Let’s hope the family will get a taste of their own medicine one day.
