It’s true what they say, you’ll find love when you least expect it! A Taiwanese man recently shared how he met the love of his life while he was taking a flight, and it was a rather sweet story. He said that he had noticed a rather petite girl carrying several bags and running around before they boarded the flight but didn’t think much of it. He had just been fired from his job and was planning to go home.

He was surprised to find that he was sitting in the same row as the girl. She was sitting at the window seat with her bags and when he looked at her and thought, “This girl is around 155cm, can she reach the overhead compartment to place her luggage?” However, since she didn’t ask for help he sat down but just moments later, she said, “Excuse me, can you help me put my things in the overhead compartment?”
Both of them started talking after this when the girl offered some cherries to him as thanks for helping her. He asked her where she was travelling to, and she told him that she was going to Taipei. Since he was going the same way, he invited her to travel together, and they talked non-stop on the flight about themselves.

“She has very good English but I am not fluent in the language. She told me that she is from Chongqing, China and this is the first time she has travelled to Taiwan although she has been to many places. At first, there was one seat between us but after talking for a while, she switched seats and was sitting right next to me,” he said.
“She told me about her plans in Taiwan which left me a little shocked because it was rather hectic and impossible to complete. I gently explained to her the problems with her plans, and we continued talking throughout the flight. Suddenly, we experienced some turbulence and the plane was shaking. It was then that she said she wanted to sleep during the turbulence and put on her eye mask.”

He explained that during the turbulence, somehow both of them ended holding hands during this time but did not say anything. He felt rather protective of her and kept reassuring her by saying, “It’s okay, it’s very safe, nothing is going to happen.” Finally, they landed in Taiwan and got down from the flight together.
After some hassle at the immigration as the girl had left some travel documents in her check-in luggage, they made it out of the airport and went exploring Taiwan together. “Although we have only known each other for a day, it feels like we’ve known each other for years. We never ran out of topics to talk about. Because of one flight, one chance and this girl, we are now a couple. It’s also thanks to my company for firing me so that I could meet her. This is the story of how our love story started,” he added. Wow, must be fate!

His post has since been shared over 3,300 times as netizens were envious that he managed to get a girlfriend during just one chance encounter on a plane. Some of them even tagged their friends, asking them why they did not manage to meet their other half while they were on flights.
