The Sales and Services Tax (SST) is officially in effect, and while Malaysians have been keeping track of SST-exempt items to prioritise and save cash on, one of the country’s most popular pharmacies has decided to make the transition a little easier!

In a press statement, Guardian Malaysia has announced that they will be keeping the prices of all of their items unchanged for the entire month of September 2018. This initiative called ‘Pause the Price’ applies to all 436 stores in Malaysia.

Guardian Health and Beauty Sdn Bhd CEO Soren Lauridsen said in the statement,

“We are very happy to give our commitment to keep prices unchanged, irrespective of the SST impact, we view this effort as timely and appropriate. Besides, we are confident consumers will be thrilled.”

‘Pause the Price’ is an initiative under Guardian Malaysia’s ‘Knockdown Prices Campaign’ (KDP) that was launched in January 2018 in efforts to help reduce the rising costs of living. Running until the end of this year, the KDP has offered four to five full range of products at prices of between 10 and 70 per cent off every Friday to Sunday.

So, if you’ve been bummed out about not being able to stock up on a few toiletries before the SST officially kicked in, you can still get a hold of them this month!
