Previously, we shared how a total of 182 police reports have been lodged against Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh’s now-controversial 2014 book, “Becoming Hannah: A Personal Journey”, as of 8 January.

This is due to allegations that the book is a move by the Segambut Member of Parliament (MP) to “spread Christianity” and turn Malaysia into a Christian state.

Yeoh’s controversial book is becoming more popular than ever despite hundreds of police reports against it

Well, despite the hundreds of police reports against the book, it seems that the memoir has become more popular than ever.

In fact, Yeoh recently took to her official Facebook page to reveal the increased demand for the memoir, leading the publisher to reprint it for the 19th time.

Sharing a review of  “Becoming Hannah: A Personal Journey” by Malaysian lawyer Daniel Teoh, Yeoh asserted,

“My publisher has informed me that Becoming Hannah is now going for its 19th reprint.”

Yeoh’s cheeky responses to the allegations against her and her memoir

Previously, in a recent interview she shared on her Facebook page, Hannah said her memoir is merely about her life journey into the world of politics and dubbed the accusations that her book was a “move to spread Christianity” as defamation.

Meanwhile, in one Facebook post, she cheekily used the hundreds of police reports against the book to promote it by sharing a post by indie bookstore and publisher Gerakbudaya about a promotion on purchases of the book.

Sharing Gerakbudaya’s post, Yeoh asserted,

“For everyone asking where to buy Becoming Hannah.”

Besides that, Yeoh also shared a post by Facebook user Rozhan Othman, who stressed that he is still a Muslim after reading Yeoh’s memoir and was not confused by it.

Moreover, the Youth and Sports Minister also shared WORLD OF BUZZ’s post about the 182 police reports lodged against her memoir, as well as a post using the same WORLD OF BUZZ poster by Sepanggar MP Mohd Azis Jamman which defended Yeoh’s book.
