The Genting Cluster has recorded over 370 positive Covid-19 cases so far after a foreigner, who is the index case, crossed state borders from Selangor to Pahang.

Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said that the Bangladeshi man had gone to Genting Highlands to visit his friends, and had spread the virus to them.

He added that the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) has since been enforced at Amber Court, Ria Apartment and Rumah Kongsi Kg Semaut.

According to Harian Metro, the cluster was reported to have been detected in Kuala Lumpur and Pahang on 4 December, involving Titiwangsa and Bentong districts respectively. This comes after the index case (case 66,878) tested positive on 1 December during a workplace screening.

On 9 December, the government implemented the EMCO in all three areas involved, Amber Court Apartment, Ria Apartment and Rumah Kongsi Kg Semaut in Bentong, Pahang from 10 to 23 December.

Previously it was reported that residents at Ria Apartment were relocated to First World Hotel before the EMCO was implemented at midnight.
