This is devastating, especially if you’re a fan of the American sitcom Friends growing up.
Actor Matthew Perry, the star who played Chandler Bing in Friends passed away yesterday (October 28). Matthew was found dead at his home in his jacuzzi, as reported by TMZ and the Los Angeles Times.
TMZ was told by sources that Matthew appeared to have drowned and officers responded to a call for cardiac arrest at his residence. He came home in the morning after a 2-hour round of pickleball and sent his assistant out on an errand shortly thereafter. No foul play was involved and no drugs were found at the scene. He was 54.
Matthew was known for his role as Chandler Bing in Friends, which ran for 10 long seasons from 1994 to 2004. The sitcom returned in May 2021 in a special reunion, Friends: The Reunion, where all the cast appeared together. Matthew was also nominated in the Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor in A Comedy Series in 2002.
