One of the biggest industries effected by the Covid-19 virus is the aviation industry. Many pilots, cabin crew members and other aviation staff members are still trying to figure out what to do next, though some have already adapted well to their new lives.
As according to Harian Metro, flight attendant, Maurice Maureen Avila from the Philippines was shy at first, but quickly pushed her reservations aside as she started selling Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders following her termination from her high-flying job back in October, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
She admitted that she was sad to leave her job of three years, in a field that she enjoyed, and that she had lost her appetite and cried every night following her dismissal. But she then pulled herself together.
“Every night I asked God, why is this happening considering I’ve been working so hard. Until one day, the idea to sell gas (LPG) cylinders came to me and since then, I’ve been determined to sell them with my partner.”
“I am now excited again and hope that those who are in the same situation do not give up,” she said.
Even though her daily routine has changed and she is no longer with the industry she loved so much, she accepted her destiny and is comfortable and happy with the changes in her life.
“Over a month of being unemployed, I realise that we can only plan but God will determine it.”
It is completely understandable to feel completely blindsided by huge changes such as a loss of one’s job, but no matter what, you must always pick yourself up and keep going. For you’ll never know, there might be another job out there that’ll bring you just as much joy.
