An unhappy secondary school student punched his teacher in the face recently after the latter called him out for truancy.

In a viral video, the student and the teacher grabbed each other by the collar before the student punched the teacher while grinning sarcastically and said,

“Come at me.”

The teacher, who tried to maintain his patience, then dared the Form 2 student to do it again and punch him in the face, which he did not. In an official statement by PDRM this morning (July 30), the police said that the matter took place at one of the schools in the Kajang district.

Other students and teachers witnessed the scene

Assistant Commissioner Naazron Bin Abdul Yusof, the chief police of the Kajang district, said that after the incident happened on Monday (July 28), the police received a report regarding the matter on the same night at 7:15 PM.

The student was detained shortly after the report was made, and according to the initial investigation, the student was found skipping the Physical Education (Pendidikan Jasmani & Kesihatan) class when he was supposed to be in the field.

The teacher then reprimanded the student, which he was not happy about.

“The suspect was unhappy with the reprimand, which led to a scuffle with the teacher. He then punched the teacher in the face and threatened him.”

“The incident, which occurred within the school compound, was witnessed by several teachers and students,” Naazron said.

The student is being remanded for two days to assist in the investigation and will be charged at the Kajang Magistrates’ Court today under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt.
