The victim’s mother filed a police report

The incident came to light when the girl was found by her mother, who had been waiting outside the school after noticing that her daughter hadn’t come out as usual once school ended at 6:30 PM.

The Form 1 student was eventually found by her mother and the school’s security guard inside a toilet, with her hands and feet tied using a necktie and her mouth covered with a handkerchief.

The girl was later taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries to her hands and legs and was reported to be traumatised.

The act was believed to be fueled by jealousy

Kuala Muda District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Hanyan Ramlan, said two 13-year-old students have been detained to assist with the investigation.

He confirmed that the incident took place in the school’s toilet and that jealousy was believed to be the motive behind the bullying.

“Both suspects, also 13, admitted to the act out of jealousy. The investigation is still ongoing, and they have been remanded under Sections 323 and 324 of the Penal Code,” he said.
