It’s no secret that foreigners and tourists love our local cuisine, which is why Malaysians love introducing our food to them (you know, to see their reactions when they realise our food reigns supreme).

But sometimes, when introducing our Malaysian food to foreigners, it’s always best to show or teach them the best way to consume it.

For instance, former professional Dota 2 player, Jake ‘SirActionSlacks’ Kanner caused chaos at the live podcast session by OG Esports in Kuala Lumpur, when he unknowingly ate nasi lemak together with the banana leaf wrapping!

That’s definitely not how you eat nasi lemak!

During the session, Malaysian food was presented to Kanner, as well as former Bosnian player Admir “lizZard” Salkanovic and French-Lebanese player Sebastien “Ceb” Debs. Malaysian player Chai “Mushi” Yee Fung handed the nasi lemak packets to all the foreign guests, along with disposable forks and spoons.

While Salkanovic and Debs dug into our national dish with the forks and spoons, Kanner could be seen arranging the banana leaf wrapping around the nasi lemak like an onigiri and taking a huge bite out of it, unbeknownst to the others.

No one on stage noticed Kanner’s antics until the audience went wild!

Kanner’s unknowing and hilarious actions caused the live audience to go wild, leading to the others looking over to him in curiousity, all while Kanner was pulling out pieces of banana leaf from his mouth.

We’re honestly so happy that the moment was caught on camera, purely because of how funny it was!

Someone please take this man out for nasi lemak, the proper way (with hands)!
