As Malaysians, we were all very familiar with LRT stations and their malfunctioning escalators until Anthony Loke became the minister again.

It seems that our neighbouring country, Indonesia, also had the same problem, and a user of the Bekasi train Station (@/PernebangRoket on X) decided to take action.

On the 100th day of the escalator malfunctioning, which fell on January 31, the fed-up train-user brought a white flower wreath and a grave made of cardboard for the escalator.

The text on the wreath reads:

“My condolences for the death of the Bekasi Station escalator, Bekasi residents.”

On the fake grave, which was made of cardboard and filled with flowers, the person also wrote, “RIP (rest in peace) Bekasi Station escalator, born: 2022, died: October 2023.”

Seeing this, multiple train users took this opportunity to capture photos in prayer poses like someone would do when visiting a grave.

After this went viral, those responsible promised spare parts to repair the escalator, which will arrive on February 3, 2024.

However, after the date promised, the escalator is still not fixed. The flower wreath was taken away, and a notice saying that repairs would be done in the near future took its place.

Some netizens have said that they might reach 200 days of malfunctioning.

“On the way to 200 days.”

If it ever reaches 200 days, we’re confident that the place will be filled with flower wreaths. What do you think of this? Let us know in the comments.
