No one loves holidays as much as we Malaysians do. I mean, just think about how many public holidays we have in a year in comparison to other countries! In fact, we love holidays so much that we even look forward to school holidays as adults. Well, if you’re someone who relates to this, let us know in the comments below what are some other things you like most about the Cuti Sekolah period, aside from the ones in this list.

1. Not being woken up by school buses honking early in the morning

Here’s a PSA to all Malaysian parents: please for the love of all things good and sacred, have your kids out the door as soon as the school bus arrives. I mean, I’m sure most of you work a 9-to-5 job too and know the importance of (good) sleep to get you through a hectic day at the office.

2. Being able to go out for lunch without worrying about the after-school crowd

Seeing that most schools end during lunchtime, most eateries would usually be packed with families. This can be pretty be frustrating at times as we would usually have to wait for a seat or do what most working Malaysians eventually end up doing— tapau and eat in our office’s pantry.

3. Amazing traffic

OH, THE JOY! If you’ve ever wondered why a colleague is extra cheerful during the school holiday period, chances are it’s because they didn’t have to deal with the extremely mafan congestion on the LDP or federal highway on their way to AND BACK from work!

4. Not having your house entrance blocked by other parents waiting to pick their kids

If you live near a school, you’d know!  ?  ?  ?

5. Spending quality time with the whole family

School holidays are also a great time for families to rekindle their familial bond by going on vacations. What’s more, you can also get your kids to spend quality time with their grandparents by planning intimate get-togethers like a BBQ.

6. Discounts, promos and activities planned for kids
