With registration for the Central Database Hub (PADU) due in just 4 days, the Economy Ministry is now ramping up efforts to get Malaysians to sign up for the database, touted to be the most comprehensive database established by the Malaysian government to date.

Accordingly, one recent post by the Economy Ministry has caught the attention of Malaysians recently, whereby the Ministry claimed that even those in the T20 group may receive subsidies if they updated their info on PADU.

Why PADU requires you to provide your bank account details

Taking to its official X (formerly Twitter) account, the Economy Ministry said that the answer to the common question of “What do I get” if I register for PADU is monthly cash aid.

The Ministry further elaborated that the Federal Government will be implementing targeted subsidies this year, replacing the current blanket subsidy.

Hence, that’s why PADU requires you to enter your bank account details so that targeted aid can be directly transferred to the recipient’s account.

T20 may also get targeted subsidies if they register for PADU

The post then asserted that generally, the B40 and M40 groups are eligible for targeted subsidies as the new eligibility requirements will take into account your net income after subtracting variables such as the number of dependants.

Therefore, the Economy Ministry stressed that even the T20 group may get targeted subsidies if their net income after subtracting variables is the same as the M40 group.

Nevertheless, these groups may get dropped if their data in the database is missing i.e. if they don’t register for PADU.

That’s why the Economy Ministry is urging everyone to update their info in PADU before the due date on 31 March.
