According to The Star, the incident happened in front of a used car shop at Pusat Bandar Utara Selayang at around 7.30am in the morning.

It was reported that the 23-year-old victim had just left his home, carrying a pouch containing his earnings from selling durians, when he was attacked by a group of men. The victim reportedly tried to fight back but was stabbed many times by the robbers with a screwdriver. Yikes!

Sentul OCPD Asst Comm R. Munusamy said that the robbery was witnessed by several policemen stationed at a mobile police station, reported NST.

“The incident was witnessed by a mobile patrol team. With the assistance of the member of the public, the team apprehended a man, who was holding a screwdriver.”

The man was identified to be a 21-year-old Myanmar refugee who holds a United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) card.

Unfortunately, two other suspects managed to escape the scene. The police are now on the hunt for them.

The victim sustained five stab wounds to the back of his shoulders, and he was sent to the Selayang hospital for immediate treatment.

Such a scary thing to happen! Hopefully, the cops manage to nab the suspects and punish them appropriately.

To everyone else, do stay alert and be cautious at all times!
