Over the weekend, a truck driver was unexpectedly robbed while trying to top up his Touch ‘n Go card at the Batu 11 toll plaza in Kajang on Saturday night (20th October).

Kajang Deputy OCPD Supt Mohd Sabri Abdullah told The Star that the incident, which occurred at about 10.55pm, transpired when a Proton Persona that was abruptly switching lanes hit the back of the victim’s vehicle as he stopped at the toll plaza’s Touch ‘n Go reload lane.

The Proton driver then allegedly exited his vehicle, dragged the victim out of his truck and demanded RM1,000. When the victim told the suspect that he didn’t have that much money on him, the suspect became even angrier and wanted to hold his truck as insurance. The suspect had even slapped the victim during this altercation.

The victim then proceeded to call his employer, who advised him to file a police report against the Proton driver. At this point, the suspect started threatening to kill the victim. He also demanded that the two passengers travelling with the victim give him whatever money they had on them.
