Being a public figure is certainly not an easy task. There is bound to be people that would blatantly spread hate towards these public figures as a way to taint their reputation.
Recently, a Twitter page reposted an Instagram post from our former Minister of Youth and Sports, Syed Saddiq.
The page criticised his choice of attire during his booster shot appointment.
In the picture, the former minister was wearing a white buttoned down shirt, which was opened on one side to ease the booster shot process.
Not fond of the picture, the news portal decided to post a tweet criticising Syed Saddiq’s attire.
“Look at this behaviour. Can’t you at least wear something more appropriate to take your third dose? Is this the person youths look up to?”
However, little did they know they would receive a response from Syed Saddiq himself!
Syed Saddiq responds to the tweet
After stumbling upon the tweet, Syed Saddiq decided to respond to the tweet and clarify why his attire was as such.
In response to the tweet, Syed Saddiq expressed his confusion on why he was receiving hate simply for wearing a white buttoned down shirt.
“Seriously. Don’t you have anything better to do?”
He also clarified that the reason why he was wearing a white buttoned down shirt was because he had just gotten back from an interview with the media regarding a flood aid mission.
The Twitter account replied back!
Just an hour after Syed Saddiq’s tweet was posted, the Twitter page decided to respond back with even more questions!
They mentioned that since Syed Saddiq has pointed out a few things, they would like to ask more questions.
The first question from them was if Syed Saddiq had already known that he was going to his booster shot appointment, why did he not bring any extra t-shirts or a more appropriate clothing.
As for the second question, the news portal asked him on why he had to post such a picture on social media.
“This picture has been viral way before I even commented on it…That means there are people that do not like it and is uncomfortable with what he’s wearing,”
Syed Saddiq has yet to respond to the recent tweet, but we hope that everything will be clarified and settled properly by both sides.
