What do you do when the people you trust in for the sake of your well-being make a mistake?

Doctors are meant to save lives. They often have to deal with fine margins, which is why when they make minor mistakes, things can quickly turn dangerous for the patient.

In this case, a wife, Love Ummi took to her Facebook page to showcase the pain and suffering her husband had to and probably is still enduring after a doctor had made a considerably silly mistake when treating him. Her husband, who had his second stroke last March, had been admitted to the hospital and was in no condition to urinate on his own.

Hence, they installed a catheter tube and a drainage bag to help ease his struggles, though due to one doctor’s negligence, they made his struggles even more painful to bear as the wrong sized tube was installed, causing uncontrollable, unnatural bleeding and intolerable pain.

Ummi wrote, “Yesterday afternoon the hospital staff, a few specialist doctors and other members personnel held a beneficiary meeting for the 30th of September, 2019 case of Dr A Fz Karena’s carelessness in installing the wrong sized urination tube that caused my husband to suffer non-stop bleeding. The hospital and the doctor have apologised for the mistake and has promised to follow up on any developments until my husband is better and the hospital has taken responsibility regarding the negligence. ”

What’s even sadder is the fact that when Ummi’s husband had the stroke, she had also gone into labour with their youngest child.

“When he had the stroke last March, he was in the ICU and I fought for my life giving birth to our youngest child. Now, she is seven months old and has yet to even hear her father’s voice,” Ummi told MStar.

Due to all the suffering that they have been through and are still enduring, Ummi is considering making an official complaint to the Ministry of Health, to ensure that no one else would ever have to face what they are facing.

“I’m always praying for strength to handle this test. To all out there, please pray that my husband recovers fast and is back to his healthy self,” she added.

We genuinely hope that her husband has a speedy recovery and that this serves as a lesson to all doctors out there to be wary and a lot more careful with patients’ well-being.

Our lives are in your hands.
