A Plea for Hope: Supporting Shan Dai Orphanage Welfare Home

The world’s economy is barely getting any easier, with many of us still struggling to make ends meet. The cost of living goes up while our incomes can’t maintain it, leaving vulnerable communities in distress. Among those deeply affected is Shan Dai Orphanage Welfare Home, a sanctuary for children in need, located in Bandar Mahkota Cheras, Selangor.

For years, Shan Dai Orphanage has provided shelter, education, and care to underprivileged children. However, due to the economic downturn and the prolonged effects of the Movement Control Order (MCO), the centre’s financial stability has been severely impacted. Previously, the centre was supported by the business income of its director; but as the business has suffered setbacks, reserve funds had to be used to sustain the home. Now, those funds are running low, putting the children’s future at risk.

The Rising Costs of Care

The centre currently faces significant monthly expenses, including:

🏠 Rent: RM6,600 for two rooms
💧 Electricity & Water: RM4,800 for two rooms
👩‍⚕️ Caregivers’ Salaries: RM12,000 for six caregivers
📚 Tuition Fees: RM11,000 for eight children
🍚 Meals: RM8,750
🏥 Medical Expenses: RM1,500–RM2,000
🛒 Miscellaneous: RM3,000

Despite being a registered and government-recognised welfare home, the orphanage receives little external aid. Due to limited exposure, only a few kind-hearted individuals are aware of its existence and lend a helping hand. With funds depleting and needs growing, the home is reaching out to the public in a heartfelt plea for support.

Every Child Deserves a Future

Shan Dai Orphanage Welfare Home is not just a shelter — it is a place where children find hope, warmth, and a second chance at life. By standing together, we can ensure these children continue to receive the education, medical care, and nurturing they need to thrive.

If you cannot contribute financially, you can still spread the word. Share this message with friends, family, and social networks. Awareness is the first step toward change.

Let’s come together and be the beacon of light for these children. Your support can make all the difference. ❤️🙏🏻
