Imagine this: you’re chatting with an online seller about a product you’ve been looking for since forever, he’s also selling it at a very good price.

But something in your heart is telling you that it might seem too good to be true. Wouldn’t it be awesome if there’s a way to check whether the seller is legit or not? Wait, now there is!

You can now do a quick check on any online seller with this portal by the Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID) of the PDRM.

It was officially announced on their Facebook page on 11 September and the official website can be accessed here.

The website was set up with the goal of helping consumers avoid getting scammed by illegitimate online sellers who have previously been reported to the police or not.

All you need to do is key in the phone number or bank account of the online seller and a notice will be shown to inform you whether they are legit or not. That’s it! It’s very simple!

It is always a good thing to be extra careful when it comes to online transactions. This new website by CCID will provide an additional layer of security for online shoppers.
