While most parents would do everything they can to protect their child, some prefer to save their own butts more than to care about their own child’s well-being.
Recently, a man who was tested positive for drugs, was using a stolen motorcycle when he tried to escape the police team who approached him in Kampung Fajar, Ulu Klang. He was found to have a record of drug-related offences.
The man and his family, including his wife and son, had gathered at a field with a few others at 10.15pm on Sunday (June 3), when a team of policemen on patrol duty approached them, according to New Straits Times.
The man tried to escape the police on his motorcycle but failed to do so when his vehicle fell to the ground. He started to panic and in a desperate attempt to avoid getting arrested, threw his son hoping to distract the police, but was caught immediately.
“The suspect, who panicked, flung his son away and tried to flee but he was apprehended by police,” said Ampang Jaya district police chief ACP, Hamzah Alias.
“His wife and the other friends escaped,” he said at the Taman Melawati police station, reported Free Malaysia Today.
He added that the boy was brought to Ampang Hospital after he sustained injuries and bruises on his back, and said that they will soon investigate the suspect’s wife.
“We are closing in on the suspect’s wife, aged 27, to facilitate investigations,” said Hamzah.
Poor boy! We hope he is okay and will recover soon. Shame on his dad for doing the unthinkable!
