A rotten corpse was found hanging on a tree in KL yesterday evening (May 14), and the body was infested with insects when the public found it.

The body was discovered around 3:44 PM yesterday along Jalan Sultan Ismail, just opposite Hard Rock Cafe. Due to the condition of the decomposing body, PDRM was unable to determine the identity and age of the deceased.

Firefighters were also deployed to the scene, and the authorities had to control the traffic in the area.

Dang Wangi District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Sulizmie Affendy Sulaiman, said the body was discovered in the bush area near the restaurant. The deceased was found hanging by his neck with a black wire.

At the time of writing, PDRM has not found any criminal elements in the case, and no injuries were found on the victim’s body, except for the strangulation marks on his neck.

The police also did not find any documents on the victim, who was wearing blue shorts, a grey t-shirt, and slippers, reported Sin Chew and Berita Harian.

The case has been classified as a sudden death, and the body has been sent to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital for a post-mortem to determine the cause of death.
