A 40-year-old man in India has come out alive after being declared dead by doctors and was kept in the mortuary freezer for over seven hours.
As reported by India Times, Sreekesh Kumar, an electrician with the civic body in Moradabad, was hit by a speeding motorbike and taken to the district hospital on Thursday night. There, the doctors on duty pronounced him dead.
He was then bundled up and kept in the freezer in the mortuary as they had to wait for a post-mortem to be done the next day. After nearly seven hours, a ‘panchnama‘, a document that needed to be signed by the family members after identifying the body and agreeing to an autopsy, had to be filed by police.
However, Kumar’s sister-in-law Madhu Bala noticed that his body was showing signs of movement. Other family members then crowded around the body and called for the doctors and police. After Kumar came out alive from the freezer, he was referred to a health centre in Meerut, where his condition has improved.
“He is yet to gain consciousness but doctors have assured us that he is out of danger,’ his family said.
