Secrets have “weight”. The more secrets you have, the heavier the burden you carry. A father in China who has been living in “poverty” buried a secret from his son for a good 20 years before he “dug” it out for a shocking reveal.

Son, little did you know, you’ve been living with your dad, who is secretly a millionaire for 2 decades! Let’s just say, the father is 1 good actor.

In a viral Douyin video, the son revealed that his father always cried about debts to him and highlighted the poverty that they were living in. All this while, his son, who recently graduated from university found out that his father owned a mansion, and he has been living at a small house in the country.

Here’s the chronological story about how the unsuspecting son found out about his wealthy status.

He has always planned that upon graduation, he would hunt for jobs that pay up to RMB6,000 (approximately RM4,000) to help his father pay the debts. As we can all relate, job hunting is never a walk in the park.

“It was hard for me to find a job, so my father offered me to continue his business.”

He was initially hesitant because he had always been led to believe that the business was deteriorating until his father brought him for an “orientation” at the home office.

“My father bought this office and made it his home.”

The office, which is now also his house, has a KTV room, an aquarium worth RMB50,000 (Approximately RM32,000), and an elevator. Just how rich are his parents?

“They have 8 cars,” the son said.

Despite working at his father’s company now, the son admitted that his monthly wage is still less than RM4,000, and he’s still commuting to work every day by riding his electric motorcycle.

This might be a cue to check your family history again. Be right back, we’re probably going to do the same!
