Covid-19: Guest From Penang Wedding Reception Tests Positive, MOH Urges Others Present To Contact Them

On 8 September, the number of Covid-19 positive cases once again reached three digits. 

Guests who have attended the couple, Fatin and Azlan’s solemnisation in Bukit Indera Muda, Bukit Mertajam, Penang on 29 August are urged to contact the Seberang Perai Tengah Health office @ 04-5397884.

The director of the State Health Department, Dr Asmayani Khalib has said that one of the guests who has attended the solemnisation ceremony tested positive for Covid-19 recently. The patient (who is a part of the Sungai Cluster) has been admitted into a hospital in Alor Setar, according to a Facebook post by the Ministry of Defence.

Dr Asmayani also said that she has yet to receive the exact number of guests who were there.

“Our officers are now getting the list of the attendees.”
