The controversial motivational founder of the eHATI marriage counselling programme and her husband are believed to have fled abroad before appearing in court for the charges.

Selangor Police Chief, Datuk Shazeli Kahar, said police have identified the location, which is a country in Southeast Asia.

According to him, the couple is believed to have left the country through legal channels on 13 October, before the charges were filed on 14 October.

“The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) believes they fled overseas before the charges were carried out.”

“However, we have identified which country they went to, and PDRM will liaise with strategic partners in that country to help track down the individuals named in the arrest warrant,” he added.

“They moved earlier before the warrant was issued,” he said during a press conference on drug disposal at the Selangor Contingent Police Headquarters (IPK).

He added that the public should give space for the police to conduct their investigation.

Motivational programme sparked outrage

It was previously reported that police received a report regarding a household motivational programme alleged to be deviant and misleading, which took place in September last year at a convention centre in Shah Alam.

Participants reportedly paid up to RM9,000 to attend the event, which included a segment called “Queen’s Night” where naked individuals were present, according to PDRM.
