After months of building up due to the decisions by the respective State Legislative Assemblies to not dissolve during the 15th General Election (GE15) last year, six State Elections (PRN) are officially underway with today being the Nomination Day.

However, one name would be missing from the ballots this PRN after his name was announced as a candidate for N36 Repah, Negeri Sembilan by MUDA.

This is because the candidate, Iswan Ishak has decided to pull out of running in PRN just a day prior to Nomination Day.

As reported by Malaysia Gazette, the matter was announced by MUDA’s Election Committee after holding discussions with Iswan, who decided to not continue with his candidacy due to personal reasons.

MUDA respected the decision and thanked Iswan for his cooperation. The political party also wished him well for his future endeavours.

Previously, we shared how Iswan’s candidacy by MUDA for N36 Repah divided Malaysians as the content creator had previously been embroiled in a controversy with one of his videos.

In the video, released some two years ago, Iswan was criticised for pretending to be OKU and parked at a spot designated for the differently-abled.

He has since apologised for the video and taken it down, clarifying that the context behind the video was that he wanted to reenact scenes that he saw happening in real life. Furthermore, he stressed that he never intended to mock the OKU community and should’ve inserted a proper ending and context for the video.

So, what do you guys think of the whole situation? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
