In the wake of this COVID-19 outbreak, people have been very creative in trying to avoid being infected by the coronavirus. Other than that, some selfish people have also been very creative in trying to avoid being caught when they know they have the virus.
So, in order to avoid these people from spreading the virus, the Sichuan police have started using smart helmets to detect if a person has a fever. According to SCMP, the infrared cameras attached to the helmet can scan for people with a fever of up to37.3 degree celsius from 5 meters away! When the helmet detects a person with a fever, the helmet will light up and emit a sound.
In addition to that, the helmets can also scan QR codes and have facial recognition features. So when a police officer passes by a pedestrian, the facial recognition feature will be activated and it will display their personal information in a virtual screen inside! The light-weight helmet are also equipped with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 5G connectivity. Wow, what! That’s even better than some phones today!
According to SinChew Daily, is said that with the help of this helmet, two police officers were able to completely scan a 100 people on the streets in less than two minutes and if this helmet was employed in a big hospital, only 10 will be needed! Here’s a video of the helmet in action.
