If it’s entirely up to us, we wouldn’t want to lose anyone we love. Unfortunately, that is never the case and we’re always living on borrowed time. Just this morning (January 12), Chef Wan announced via his Instagram and revealed that his beloved mother has passed away peacefully in her sleep at the hospital.
“May her soul rest in peace, and may God forgives all her sins.”
Chef Wan’s mother had been battling dementia and cancer for quite a while. Two weeks ago, she was admitted to the Gleneagles Hospital in Kuala Lumpur after her condition had worsened. Since then, the local celebrity chef kept his followers updated on the condition of his mother, until her death this morning.
Before succumbing to her illnesses, Chef Wan had to watch the illnesses “eating” his mother until she became so frail, with only skin and bones left. She was in a deep coma for a few days prior to her death, and the doctor told Chef Wan, “It’s obvious that your mom is in a peaceful deep coma.”
Before her death, the doctor also suggested Chef Wan take his mom home as it’s common to bring a comatose patient home, and he was assured that his mother could also have quality care at home by having a hospital doctor visiting her from time to time. However, Chef Wan refused to do so.
“Deep down, I am worried that we can’t give her the medical care that she needs,” Chef Wan said.
Her body will be prepared for burial at the Masjid Putra in Putrajaya and will be laid to rest at the Cyber 10 cemetery in Cyberjaya. His mother, Noraini Abdullah was 93.
Our thoughts and prayers go to Chef Wan and his family during this tough time, and may Noraini’s soul rest in peace.
