Despite the love and the time spent, everyone is fated to leave when their time with us is up, whether we like it or not. As for local celebrity Chef, Chef Wan, his bedridden mother is not doing any better, and Chef Wan is ready to care for the family if his mother succumbs to her illness.

His mother has been a patient of dementia and cancer for quite some time, and yesterday (January 6), in his Instagram post, Chef Wan said that he was informed by the doctor that his mother’s heartbeat is slowing down and getting irregular.

“In the next few hours, you’ll see her heartbeat rate going down even more,” the doctor told Chef Wan.

The local celebrity’s Instagram posts recently have all been about his ill mother and over the past few days, Chef Wan has not been getting enough sleep as he continues to care for his mother. In the latest update about his mother’s condition, Chef Wan said that the hospital has reduced her food and liquid intake whilst monitoring her heart progression.

However, it looks like Chef Wan knows his mother’s time is limited, so he took the opportunity to tell her mom something.

“Ma, if you’re ready, please go. I’ll be here to care for our family. You have been the best mother everyone could wish for,” Chef Wan whispered into his mother’s ear.

While caring for his mother, the celebrity chef did not care for himself enough well. This prompted the doctor to step in and spoke to Chef Wan about his health.

“You’re so exhausted and haven’t slept for days,” the doctor told him.

The doctor assured him that his mother will understand if he was asleep, and reminded him not to be too hard on himself.

“Please get some sleep now,” the doctor asked.

At the end of his post, Chef Wan revealed that it was his birthday at the time of the post and to lose his own mother on his birthday is a great pain.

Our thoughts and prayers go to Chef Wan and his family during this tough time.
