Earlier last month, Chef Wan shocked many Malaysians with his cancer diagnosis and just yesterday the celebrity chef shared an image of him bald as a result of chemotherapy.

On his Instagram post yesterday (August 4), Chef Wan shared a quick update on his current situation and explained why he doesn’t find it necessary to cover his baldness.

“At my age, it’s really not a concern”

Chef Wan showed his positivity by joking and said that he looks like an aging turkey, and when he was asked if he wanted a cap to hide his baldness, Chef Wan politely decline with some wise words.

Unlike most people out there, being bald at this time has surprisingly given him more confidence. How others think he should present himself in public is not his concern at all.

“Being botak for now or forever, at my age, it’s really not a concern at all. Beauty lies within the soul.”

He added that many people spend too much time caring about their appearance, which lead to unnecessary mental stress.

Chef Wan also said that we can’t stop people from staring, but that shouldn’t be the reason for him to be bothered. He chooses to remain cool.

“At this time, my head feels light and airy. I do feel like Mr. Conehead too,” he joked.

Not many people can carry Chef Wan’s level of self confidence, and it’s inspiring how he can uphold a positive mindset during this tough time.
