As the battle intensifies between political parties, researchers, social media postings and news channels as the whole nation holds its breath with the looming 15th General Election, Charles Santiago, went on the offensive attacking a news channel for spreading racist fueled news.

In his statement which writes, “This reporting is racist to the core and seems planted to create fear ahead of GE15.”

“News must be accurate and truthful as it influences public perception.”

In a slot entitled Berita 7:58, the report was themed around the importance of Malay voters to cast their votes, as the Chinese are prepared to go out in droves, exercising their right to vote.

“No media should become the stooge for the government. It’s  a huge disservice to the country and it’s people.”

“This is a crucial General Election, as the country’s future is at stake.”
