Calling all health and fitness freaks out there, time to get excited!
Have you been seeing some funny videos posted all over social media lately of Malaysians breaking into random moves?
Turns out, HUAWEI has just launched the #CanYouBendChallenge on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok, featuring many of our favourite social media personalities including YukiTan, Fazziq, Safwan, Gladish and many more!
This challenge was done in conjunction with HUAWEI’s new smart band, the HUAWEI Band 6! The whole challenge is to highlight the convenience and versatility of the new Band 6 that allows you to bend anytime, anywhere! If you are interested in the challenge, you can simply join via TikTok, Instagram or Facebook!
In fact, we’ve personally tested out the band and can definitely attest that the new Band 6 has some superior features that are totally worth checking out. Curious to know what’s new? Read on to find out the special features of the new HUAWEI Band 6!
1. You can Bend More with a combination of 96 workout modes available!
Nope, we’re not lying. The new Band 6 comes with 11 professional workout modes and 85 customised modes so you can surely record every exercise session you’re doing, including:
- Indoor and outdoor walking, running, cycling
- Indoor sports: HIIT, yoga, boxing, etc.
- Dances: Jazz, ballet, etc.
- Fun games: Darts, laser tag, etc.
- Sports: Badminton, bowling, baseball, etc.
- Water sports: Swimming, surfing, sailing, etc.
- Winter sports: Ice skating, ice hockey, etc.
- Extreme sports: Skateboarding, rock climbing
…and so many others that we can’t list them all. Believe us when we say that this band would be perfect if you’re a fitness freak!
Our verdict: We absolutely LOVED how it included so many different types of exercises, even the ones that are more fun like dancing! Though some people may not view these extra modes as a ‘sport’, we believe that this can motivate you to stay active in more creative ways.
2. It can track everything you need to know while you’re exercising
The Band 6 is built with the HUAWEI TruSport™ professional exercise algorithm that enables it to track every aspect of your exercise from your heart rate to your capabilities so that you can analyse every session and improve them as you go.
Some of the aspects it records include:
- Distance
- Duration
- Calories burned
- Speed including your fastest and average pace
- Steps including your average cadence and stride
- Heart rate
- Training stress
- Fatigue level and recovery time
Our verdict: After personally testing this out, it is definitely useful to keep track of my exercise journey, especially since I’m exercising to lose weight. I especially liked how the band also tells you what stage you’re in as you’re exercising, from warming-up to fat-burning. It helps me better understand what I’m doing and also to navigate my exercise sessions.
3. Bend Smarter as it tracks your daily activities including all-day heart rate & stress level
Another convenient feature of the Band 6 is that it provides all-day tracking of your daily activities and health state. Not only does it record your steps, but it also monitors your heart rate, SpO2 (oxygen saturation), your all-day stress level and it even alerts you to get up and stretch if you’ve been sitting for too long.
In cases where your stress level might be a bit too high, you can also perform ‘breathing exercises’ that are available on the band to help you gain back your calmness. Not only that, but the band can also record other aspects of your life from your menstrual cycle to your sleeping pattern.
Our verdict: I think this band has been especially useful for those WFH days where we sometimes get a bit too engrossed in work that we tend to abandon our health state. Having the band on helps remind me to move around more even when I’m at home.
4. You can Bend Longer & say goodbye to bothersome charging with its 14-day battery life
This is definitely a bonus point for users. With the Band 6, you no longer have to worry about inconvenient battery life where you have to charge the band every day. This is because the band comes with a super powerful 14-day battery life!
Even if you use the band intensively every single day, it can still last up to 10 days. Imagine how convenient life would be! And when you do have to charge it, the charging time is actually super fast. Just a quick 5-minute charge can provide up to 2 days’ worth of battery life.
Our verdict: After wearing the band for five consecutive days, the battery on my band has only depleted less than 30%. And I’ve been working out every single day, okay!
5. The sleek design comes with a bigger screen display
The HUAWEI Band 6 comes with a 1.47-inch AMOLED display which is a 148% increase from the previous HUAWEI Band 4. The sleek design of the band is now wider and longer, which is perfect for when you get those super long notifications! Now, you can read them in comfort because this screen also provides a clearer display.
Not only that, but the Band 6 is also waterproof (under 5ATM), which makes it super convenient as you can wear it anytime and anywhere, without worrying about spoiling the band.
Our verdict: Even though the screen is now bigger, it does not look or feel chunky at all which means it’s still comfortable to wear all day long! I also tried going swimming with it and still managed to see the screen underwater!
