It’s undoubtedly unsettling when reports of police officers committing crimes are brought to light, and this case is certainly no different!

A 25-year-old police officer who worked under Bukit Aman’s Integrity and Standard Compliance Department (JIPS), was in charge of raiding and conducting random searches in police stations to catch negligent and corrupt policemen.

However, he was the one to get caught this time!

During a routine crime prevention roadblock in Jalan Sungai Jati, Sentosa, the police officer was stopped by another officer from the South Klang district when he started acting strangely at around 3.30am on Monday morning (20th November).

The officer who stopped him suspected that his strange behaviour was due to drug use. A police source told the Malay Mail,

“The suspect did not declare he was a policeman with the federal police until he was hauled to the South Klang district police headquarters for a urine test.”

The officer tested positive for methamphetamine suspected to be from syabu consumption and was immediately taken into custody. His police authority card was also seized and he has been suspended from his duties in Bukit Aman while investigations are ongoing.

The case is currently being investigated under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 for consuming and administering dangerous drugs.

Hopefully appropriate action will be taken to address this case!
