In today’s Budget 2026 presentation (10 October) by Prime Minister Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim in Parliament, he announced that the government is allocating over RM580 million for the development of national sports.
He further revealed that the amount is larger than last year’s allocation.

RM580 Million allocated for the development of national sports
This amount will go towards:
- The empowerment of high-performance sports, including programs like Road to Goal
- Preparations for the SEA Games and the ASEAN Para Games 2027
- The empowerment of para-athletes
- The maintenance and repair of youth and sports facilities nationwide
- The upgrade of MOE school fields nationwide
The government has also agreed to allow organisations approved by the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (LHDN) to use part of their income for sporting activities.
