In today’s announcement of the Budget 2023, Finance Minister Tengku Zafrul Aziz shared that the Bantuan Keluarga Malaysia (BKM) will be improved for next year.
He said that the 2023 version of BKM aims to assist families struggling to provide for their children.
Here are the qualifications to receive BKM:
- Families with a household income of RM2,500 and below, with more than 5 children will receive RM2,500.
- Families with a household income of RM2,500 and below, with 1 to 4 children will receive RM1,000 to RM2,000, depending on how many children you have.
- Families with a household income of RM2,500 to RM5,000, can receive RM500 to RM1,250, depending on how many children you have.
- Senior citizens with no partners and single people can receive RM350 to RM600, depending on their income.
- Single mothers and fathers can receive up to RM3,000. (This comes as a RM500 increase from Budget 2022’s financial aid for single mothers and fathers.)
